Police Lamborghini Written Off
One of the two Lamborghini Gallardos donated to the Italian police force in 2004 was involved in an accident earlier this week.
The Polizia di Stato (State Police) uses the 500hp supercars for a variety of tasks, including the transport of organs, fast medical emergency response and patrolling the autostrada with the aim of discouraging speeding motorists.
Another motorist in a Seat pulled out of a petrol station and clipped the Gallardo, sending it out of control. After colliding with several parked cars it came to rest with a van on its roof.
Fortunately no one was injured, but the Lamborghini was a write off.
