The guys over at autoblog.nl have done some nifty detective work and discovered that the forthcoming Spyker D8 may be powered by the 6.2l supercharged V8 as used in the Cadillac CTS-V. They ran the registration details found in pictures of a current test mule, and discovered that the engines Cylinders, capacity and power output matched the Cadillac’s exactly. The Spyker website also confirms the power figures, stating 415kW, 747Nm and 6.2l.

The SSUV looks like an excellent piece of design, far more attractive than the Porsche Cayenne, but having seen their test mule I think I’d prefer one of those. This long, low-slung matte black Land Rover with a supercharged V8 makes the Mercedes G55 AMG look like a Rav4.
